INDUSTRIAL CORRIDOR

Government of India has taken up implementation of various industrial corridor projects under National Industrial Corridor programme. The aim is to develop greenfield industrial nodes in India which can compete with the best manufacturing and investment destinations in the world. The objective for development of these nodes is to facilitate provision of plug n play infrastructure at the plot level and help in expansion of industrial output, increasing employment opportunities, provide better living and social facilities for the new and growing workforce. Government of India has accorded approval for development of 11 Industrial corridors (32 projects) in four Phases. The state wise list of existing & proposed projects is given below:

As part of Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), consultant has been appointed for detailed master planning and preliminary engineering for the two nodes i.e. Jodhpur PaliMarwar Industrial Area (JPMIA) and KhushkhedaBhiwadiNeemrana Investment Region (KBNIR).

At present, there is no proposal for establishment of new SEZ in Rajasthan.

This information was given by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Shri SomParkash, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today
