Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) through its Transformation of Aspirational Districts programme aims to identify challenges for skill development in districts and co-creating customized solutions for overcoming these challenges. The programme hinges on expeditiously transforming 117 districts that were identified across 28 states. Under MSDE various schemes viz. Pradhan Mantri Kaushal VikasYojana (PMKVY), National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS), Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS) and Jan SikhshanSansthan (JSS) are being implemented across Pan India including aspirational districts.During FY 2021-22, 73 Jan ShikshanSansthans are operational in 72Aspirational Districts (including 40 JSSs sanctioned during FY 2021-22). Priority is also given to aspirational districts while setting up of new JSSs in the country.
