The State/ UT wise details are at Annexure. Cumulatively, investment of Rs. 17015.8 crore has been mobilized under the scheme across the country.

Ministry maintains the sector-wise distribution of sanctioned units, including participation of women, Self Help Groups (SHGs), Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) and aspirational districts and monitors it regularly through meetings with lending banks and State/ UT Government.

Ministry through State/ UT government regularly reviews the operational and utilization status of sanctioned common infrastructure facilities and incubation centres under the PMFME Scheme. As on 31st December 2025, 108 loans have been sanctioned for Common Infrastructure facilities out of which 88 loans have been disbursed and 59 facilities are operational. For the Incubation Centre, 76 proposals have been approved from 24 States/ UTs out of which 23 incubation centers have been commissioned. Utilization levels are reviewed through Joint Inspection Reports conducted by the State Nodal Agency (SNA), Mentor Institute, and Host Institute. These inspections verify physical progress and the commencement of utilization.

Ministry has got conducted a Third Party Mid Term Impact Evaluation Study for the PMFME Scheme. As per the report dated March  31, 2025, the Scheme has supported creation of more than 2.8 lakh employment opportunities. The PMFME beneficiaries have reported increase in average turnover by about 1.7 times after availing support under the Scheme.  As per the study, large proportion of beneficiaries indicated improved market access and distribution networks, with over 85% of Credit Linked Subsidy beneficiaries and about 80% of Self-Help Group members reporting enhanced market linkages after availing benefits under the Scheme.

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries has undertaken several initiatives to enhance the uptake and impact of the PMFME Scheme in terms of employment generation, growth in turnover, strengthening of market linkages and promotion of exports. To increase awareness among stakeholders and the public at large, the Ministry conducts national and state-level awareness campaigns through various platforms such as newspaper advertisements, radio jingles, exhibitions and expos, fairs, and buyer–seller meets since the inception of the Scheme.

Ministry regularly conducts meeting with lending banks and State Government to scale up the credit flow in the country, under the scheme. The issues being faced by micro food processing enterprises are also raised at the Department of Financial Services (DFS) level and in the State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) meetings to discuss and resolve implementation challenges. Further, periodic review meetings are also conducted at state and district level by the State government. Ministry is also facilitating market access through participation in national and international exhibitions, buyer–seller meets and integration with e-commerce platforms across the country.

This information was given by the Minister of State for Food Processing Industries Shri Ravneet Singh in a written reply in Rajya Sabha today.
