Mineral Production during November 2020

The index of mineral production of mining and quarrying sector for the month of November, 2020 (Base: 2011-12=100) was 104.5.

Production level of important minerals in November, 2020 were: Coal 626 lakh tonnes, Lignite 29 lakh tonnes, Natural gas (utilized) 2263 million cu. m., Petroleum (crude) 25 lakh tonnes, Bauxite 1784 thousand tonnes, Chromite 179 thousand tonnes, Copper conc. 9 thousand tonnes , Gold 80 kg, Iron ore 185 lakh tonnes, Lead conc. 26 thousand tonnes, Manganese ore 257 thousand tonnes, Zinc conc. 115 thousand tonnes, Limestone 329 lakh tonnes, Phosphorite 129 thousand tonnes, Magnesite 6 thousand tonnes and Diamond 1664 carat.

The production of important minerals showing positive growth during November, 2020 over November, 2019 include: ‘Limestone’ (14.7%) and ‘Coal’ (2.0%).
